Santa Fe Film Festival Info:

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Established in 2000, the Santa Fe Film Festival has grown each subsequent year. More than 200 filmmakers and 75 registered journalists attended the festival's five-day run last season. Ticket sales were around 18,000.

Last season's slate of honorees included Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana, L.M. Kit Carson, Pavel Chukrav, and Robert Mugge. The festival spooled more than 200 titles, awarding its coveted Milagro for Best of the Festival to "Syrian Bride".

Other awards recognized Best American Independent, Best Native Film, Best Latin Film, Best New Mexico Title, Best Short, Best Documentary, Best Animation, an Audience Choice Award, and a scholarship to the Santa Fe Screenwriter's Conference.

About three-quarters of our program is assembled from submissions through a juried process, while the balance represents curated titles gleaned from distributors and individual filmmakers. Programmers from the Independent Film Channel, Sundance Channel and various cable, specialty and studio distributors attend the festival, acquiring a small, but growing number of our titles each season for broadcast and theatrical release.

We launched new partnerships with the Documentary Channel and the National Geographic's All Roads Film Festival. The National Geographic Partnership will bring around fifteen films related to indigenous subjects as well as photographic exhibits and a dance performance. We have an ongoing partnership with Spain's Instituto Cervantes to bring guests and films from the Spanish speaking world.
